TERM LIFE INSURANCE

Term Life Insurance

Term life insurance provides a death benefit during a specified coverage period, such as 10, 20, or 30 years, when premiums are paid and the policy remains in force.

TERM

THE BASICS

How term life coverage generally works

You choose a coverage amount and policy term. If the insured dies during the term while coverage is in force and the claim is payable, the named beneficiary receives the death benefit. Term policies generally do not build cash value.

When the level term ends, coverage may end, renew at a higher premium, or be eligible for conversion depending on the contract. Renewal and conversion options are not available on every policy.

Why someone may consider it

  • Replace income during working years.
  • Help support children or other dependents.
  • Match coverage to a mortgage, education timeline, or business obligation.
  • Seek a larger death benefit for a defined period within a particular budget.

Important considerations

Choose a term that reflects how long the financial need may last. Premiums may increase substantially after an initial level period, and conversion deadlines can occur before the policy expires. Coverage, pricing, renewal, and conversion depend on the specific policy and underwriting.

Who may this be a fit for?

Growing families

Households that want protection during years when income and caregiving responsibilities are especially important.

People with time-limited obligations

Those planning around a mortgage, dependent years, education costs, or another defined timeline.

Match the term and benefit to your need

List the obligations you want covered and how long they may last: income support, children’s expenses or a loan balance. Compare quotes using the same benefit amount and term length. Age, health, tobacco use and underwriting can affect the price and eligibility.

Ask what happens at the end of the initial term, whether renewal is available and whether a conversion option has a deadline. Those contract terms matter if your needs continue; today’s payment does not establish a future renewal price.

How JFZ can help

JFZ can help you consider a coverage amount and duration alongside your household budget. Bring the years of income support or debt protection you have in mind. The review can identify questions to ask about underwriting, renewal and any conversion provision before a separate application.

What happens after you inquire?

Use “Request a coverage review” to open the consumer form with this coverage interest selected. JFZ receives your information so a representative can follow up about your needs under the consent you provide.

This starts a coverage discussion, not an instant online quote. It does not submit an insurance application, approve coverage or put a policy in force. If you choose to proceed, a separate application and the insurer’s requirements come next.
